Murphy

William Fletcher Murphy Sr. (1871-1946) and Ruby Viola Wolf (1888-1967) were married in 1915 and had one son. Will had three children from his previous marriage to Maggie Manning. Will was a railroad man, farmer, and — briefly — a professional baseball pitcher. He was descended from pioneers of Lawrence and Orange counties in Indiana, including the Sheeks family whose log cabin is now located in Spring Mill State Park. Ruby was of German and Bohemian descent and grew up living at her father's bakery in Kansas City, Kansas.
